Souvlaki, Dolmathes and Zumba ;)

Well Hello Wednesday, January 18, 2012!
Today is my day off to revisit my life at home. Been working a lot lately at Sushi Garden and teaching Zumba and housesitting/ taking care of my Nana :) I have been discussing PR opportunities with a cousin who works in the Public Relations world about any entry level positions she hears about and she's been giving me advice on how to apply and send resume/CL's and all that. God Bless that woman! Hopefully things will line up for me in 2012... Still on Cabrillo's Nursing program waitlist, which feels useless but... staying positive! I have yet to see a definite path but with a positive attitude, hard work ethic and faith, I am sure my future holds great things for me :) Been a major pinterester lately! Can't stop pinning everything i see that i like. Oh well, it's like an expression outlet for me. So much to catch you up on lately! How about some pics...
That's me and Mike at my mom's bday dinner at Shadowbrook to listen to Joe Ferarra sing on his geetar and play some awesome old music... kinda for the older folks but still very enjoyable by most.

The next pic is of our favorite dinner spot in Santa Cruz, Vasili's Greek Restaurant on Mission St. OMG the food here is UMMMazing!!! If you ever get the chance to go, please get the souvlaki plate with half kefthetakia (greek meatballs) and half pork skewer. You can also ask for half rice and half potatoe as the sides and always choose the salad as your appetizer!! It's the freshest salad that comes with a huge chunk of french bread, olives, pepperoncini, tomato, onion and delicious crunchy lettuce with greek style olive oil/ vinegar dressing! They have an awesome happy hour every weekday from 3- 6 PM!! Get there, their app's are half price and so are their beers and wines by the glass... SO yum!
See what I'm sayin? The plate in the forefront is a souvlaki plate with two scoops of rice pilaf, which is tasty with lemon juice, instead of the potato option. It comes with a side dish of tatziki (who doesn't love cucumber garlic greek yogurt for dipping??) and another fishy salty sauce, not my fave, but still good! Massive side of fresh seasoned pita bread, MMMMM. The bean salad in between the rice is a yummy green bean, bean tomato corn salad that blends together nicely and is always a take home, but great as leftovers on pita with tatziki :) what else, can you tell i flippin love LOVE this place? There's another Greek food place in Santa Cruz, The Greek (how original), by the original owner of Vasili's who ended up selling and starting a new one... not as good as Vasili's. I hate to say it. I always treat myself to a buffet of drinks: water (sometimes sparkling), soda (usually Coke or Pepsi), a glass of wine (Greek), or a beer (usually Anchor Steam) and I'm a happy camper. Also, they make some stellar Dolmas! Menu presents them as dolmathes, a olive oil marinated grape leaf wrapped around a mix of rice, lemon, herbs, olive oil and whatever else, in perfect bite size wraps... mmmmm! Moving on...
ZUMBA!
Here's a photo intro about my adoption of Zumba Fitness into my life to share my love and passion for dance with the fitness seekers in the world! Stay tuned for more info regarding my class schedule and locations :D
This is me with Pepper Von, a Zumba Educational Specialist (ZES) who tours with Beto Perez filming Zumba Jam Sessions and ZIN DVD's. He came to Soquel's own, Santa Cruz Dance Company to teach a Master Class with Joy Smith! Joy is great, she is also a ZES and owns a dance studio in my hometown where AMAZING talent comes through. I get so much energy from participating in classes at SCDC! Zumba has changed my life, which is why I want to share Dance, Health and Fitness with others! Zumba is meant to be accessible to anyone!! With Zumba you don't only get a physical workout, you get a a great mental workout, a great sense of community and tons of opportunities to participate in it!! SCDC has provided me and my fellow Zumba-goers a unique and fun opportunity to share DANCE with each other! More on the topic of Zumba is sure to come so I hope you are interested in learning a little bit more about it, and perhaps coming out to any of my classes, to learn a new step, get a greak workout, sweat a TON and smile the entire time!
My class schedule: Thursday's 6:00 PM at Santa Cruz Power Fitness in Santa Cruz on Water St. 95062 (831) 425-4653
